Metal backed. Excellent repro. The metal backed woodgrain is an excellent match to the original grain with the addition of a metal backing that limits shrinkage of the vinyl that is an attribute of most woodgrain vinyl. The fit of the metal backing to the console trim plates is good but not exact in some areas. Expect some fit issues also the transmission plate sections do not have the thin side section due to issues cutting the metal that thin.
