GASKET / SEAL, TRUNK RETAINER PLATE, REPRO, F4ZZ-76546A02-A
If you are looking to do a convertible top replacement on your 1994 thru 2004 SN95 Mustang then picking up one of these retainer plate gaskets/seals is a must-have! This gasket is designed to go over the complete rear pinch weld section of the rear convertible top area and is installed before the convertible top is put back onto the mounting studs at the rear tack strip location. It is designed to not only seal the attaching points at the rear tack strip but also help seal the top pinch weld area to ensure that the molding/retainer plate is properly installed. This unit is based on the original F4ZZ-76546A02-A Ford part number and is made from a similar material as the original. NPD used Original NOS samples to ensure all of the dimensions and hole locations are properly done. This unit also features the correct sticky backing that was used to make installation as easy as possible. So if you are looking to take your convertible top restoration to the next level look at picking up one of these units from NPD!

Please read! The gasket closely resembles the original in quality and material. I had an issue with the adhesive tape but it could easily have been my installation technique. I cleaned the surface of the car thoroughly before installation. I installed the seal, then reattached the retainer plate, and the adhesive of the gasket did not hold. If I were to install the gasket again, I would install the retainer plate PRIOR to adhering the back of the gasket to the car. I believe this was my error. I used a 3m moulding tape to attach it after removing the adhesive from the gasket and re-cleaning the surface.
