These rods (new), from Dynacorn, are weaker than original (old). I tried all 3 tension settings using 2 new rods but lid stayed down. Had to use 1 old + 1 new (on max setting) for satisfactory results. Previously, using both orig. rods, lid stayed up v e r y firmly & now it is more tame due to less tension. And yes, I installed them correctly!

To add to the last review, these rods, from Dynacorn, are a perfect fit, just wimpy torsion strength compared to original.
