Red center. Repro. Each. Die cast chrome bezel with decorated plastic insert. Backing plate is secured to the chrome bezel using the crimped edge design with two screws securing the cap to the wheel all similar to the later Ford replacement caps design to alleviate the lost cap issue that plagued the original production caps.

Purchased this item (4) yesterday, in person, in Florida. The NPD staff member was very helpful and we chose the part described for Styled Steel Wheels. The item is not as pictured on line. Instead of washers, it comes with a plate to go behind the wheel. In one position the plate will not allow for the screws to reach the emblem. In the other, I assume, correct position, the screws will not tighten enough for the emblem to stay firmly in place. As tight as I could get the screws, the emblem still moved. This emblem is being installed on Styled Steel Wheels, also from Scott Drake. To use this product I will have to fashion some type of shim to go between the back plate and wheel. I would have thought two Scott Drake products would work properly with each other. I will now re-think any further Scott Drake purchases.

I have original style steel wheels on my 66 Mustang. I’ve tried fastening the caps both ways with the back plate and the screw isn’t quite long enough to catch one way and the other way it’s too loose. I’m thinking I’ll have to get little longer screws. Also I remember the red being a little deeper color on the originals. Idk if reproduction style steel wheels are a little thinner than the product would work.

Excellent quality! The backing plate is needed to secure these properly. Someone had secured my old ones with washers and screws and they all came loose.
