This heavy gage steel cross sill is mounted across the frame under the wood for support. Bolt holes in the cross sill determine the placement of the bed strips and wood. The bed strips, angle strips, and front bed panel are bolted to the front cross sill and the wood is bolted to the frame through the cross sill by the bed-to-frame bolts. Cross sill is sold with holes and includes brackets. Bed mounting blocks sold separately. Made in USA.
Note:
This cross sill is designed to be use with a 7 bed strip style mounting or a 8 board setup.
Application Note:
Some early model 1951 trucks could have featured a 9 board or 8 bed strip style setup and some late model 1951 could have had a 8 board or 7 bed strip setup. The hole pattern is different and wkill not line up correctly is you have the wrong cross sill. So if you have a 1951 model year check you fitment before ordering.
