We have confirmed that this part does indeed fit the Drake center pad and original Ford. There is another reproduction center pad on the market that is too big, and that reproduction will not fit this bezel/plate.

I put this in an original pad. This item had a significant amount of bow that made it not sit well in the pad. While flush in the middle, it would rock back and forth on the ends. I ended up splitting the difference in the two sides and holding it just right with some RTV behind the trim to keep it from rocking. No one would guess that it's not perfect. Other than the above, it's great. Looks good, height and width are great when installed on my original pad. Looks 100 percent better than a faded original. I'd say for the average car, this is fine. If you are doing a high level concours car, you may consider having your original refinished instead.

This item is chrome like the very early 68 pieces. Later parts were painted argent. It looks very nice. The picture shown appears to be an early reproduction that didn’t have the slots for the deluxe center piece. Current reproduction parts do have the slots. This piece fit the original Ford standard rubber center pieces I tested it with just fine. It did not fit the metal deluxe woodgrain center piece. In the inside 4 corners this piece is too rounded. The original ford had sharper corners so the metal didn’t fit. I found I could very slightly bend the corners of the metal deluxe center piece and make it fit. Once installed it all looked very nice.
