Converts canister style filter to spin on FL-1A oil filter. Exact copy of the original Ford designed adapter kit from 1957. Do not over tighten the plate to the block. The plate can warp and leak if the nut is too tight.

Not good. First off there were no instructions. When I mentioned this, one guy told me I didn’t need them, then another guy piled on and said that I don’t need directions because they’ve been selling the part for years. It’s a large fitting that had to be removed. I had to figure out it was 1 1/4”. They sent me a link that was ‘supposed’ to help. The link brought me back to the part I had ordered. Not very helpful at all. I got everything together twice and it still leaks like a sieve. Now I have to get the car to a professional to get this together because I am fed up. I give customer support a ZERO. I give the parts themselves a ZERO. No, I don’t think I’ll be ordering from NPD anytime soon. You got one star because I couldn’t leave none.

Gasket is like a large rubber band. The gasket that came off was thicker and wider. Needless to say I’m still leaking oil.

Excellent conversion kit. Stamped steel is well made and thick. You must use a 1 1/4” THIN wall 1/2 “ drive socket. You must hold the plate to the block to keep it from turning while tightening the 1 1/4” nut. Make sure you have the top of the plate marked TOP facing out and up. I glued my gasket to the plate and then put a paper thin coating of black rtv on the gasket where it meets the block.

This part is junk and should not sold. The flat rubber gasket will extrude inward when tightened and cause big oil leak. This is inadequate for a face seal and should utilize an o-ring and o-ring groove. If you search the internet you will see many people complaining of the same issue.
