Verified Buyer Spare Tire Mounting Bolt

I always assumed Scott Drake were good parts, but in the last shipment I question their QC. Con: The spare tire bolt that was recommended for my 71 Mach was extremely long. Perhaps back in day the jack system used the bolt in conjunction with the spare tire bolt. If so the product description should note it. The threads stop about an 1 1/2” before it can tight down on the rim. So I tried the next best thing a put a die on it. After using 3 different dies the crest of the threads were flat. Not sure what pitch of thread they used but definitely not 1/2” NC. I’m still trying to salvage the spare tire bolt but things are going south and it’ll will probably end up in the junk heap. I am going to have to agree with him on the length.  The Drake listing shows 69-73 but 71-73’s are a little shorter with longer threaded sections. He is wrong in his remarks about the thread pitch.  They are ½”-13.
