Installed this seal about 6 months ago. Looked at it today and it split open in 4 places.

SEAL, FIREWALL

The 1st one I installed split. I realized after that I should have sprayed some silicone to allow it to slide easier. This one went on much better with the lube.

SEAL, FIREWALL

Split and cracked in less than a year. But for $3.00 I will try again. This time, I will cut the hole open a little larger (if needed), and not rely on the pre-cut screw holes to line it up. I think my steering column sits off center of the hole in the firewall. So letting the seal sit where it wants (instead of lining up the screw holes) might be a better approach to installing the seal.
