this parts is too thin original one was 1/8 thick got a second set and cut into strip to fit into grove first set of rubber to build up to the 1/8

If we could find a truly original and un-used piece we could look into doing it ourselves. We have just not found a good original sample to-date. 1965-72 Ford Text dated May 1975 lists it as “improvise from C8LY-8B391-A”. The original part number is C7ZZ-13044-A. It was never officially replaced but at some point it got the D0MZ-16D130-A number, used on 1970 Mustang extensions applied to it along with the Improvise from C8LY-8B391-A note. I think the D0MZ part was what Ford started placing the 16018/9 extension assemblies. I have a vague memory of seeing them in a Ford blue pouch in the assembly boxes. My guess is everyone repro’d the D0MZ 70 part and have used it for 67-70 never paying attention to the difference in thickness, if in fact the C7ZZ part was .130” versus .080” on the D0MZ part. We need an original to verify, and in the meantime, the hobby has been utilizing this existing reproduction by the tens of thousands. So unless we decide to do it ourselves, there's a fair chance that existing manufacturers may not be motivated to re-tool.
