Being the factory insulation didn't cover the entire ceiling of the car, I purchased this item to fill-in AND around the open areas that were not covered by the original sound deadener. With my having extra insulation after trimming, I used that portion to cover the rear corners ("rise" to the ceiling) as added sound deadener. NOTE: If your objective is to cover the entire ceiling of your car, this package does not contain enough insulation to do so (much like the factory). If the original insulation is missing or damaged, you will need to purchase two packages to get the job done.
