Item does not slide into the crevice even using 3in one oil and Vaseline. The rubber seems to be too thick for the track.

I've done this install many times, and I've never used a lube. It is indeed a difficult install, but it does go on (and then stays in-place, which is a good thing) with technique and persistence. You've just got to get it started in the channel, get it as far as it will go, then work downstream to pull the tension up out of the rubber, and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. It's easily a 20-minute job.

The seal seems like a quality product but it’s very difficult to work it around the Louver. Tried many lubricants but nothing has worked yet. To be continued.
