It worked and gives a good spray. I don't know what the original pumps sounded like but this one gives a very noticeable high pitched whine, not like on a newer car where you can't hear them at all. Is this typical? I don't know but it works and keeps the windshield clean.

We are sorry that you seem disappointed with your washer pump, but if I may make a few points in our defense: 

• The label on the box clearly states “1-Speed”.
• The vehicle application information listed with this item on our website also specifies 1-speed for 1966.
• With pretty much all auto parts, electrical items are never warrantied, because there’s no way for a parts store to determine whether the failure was due to product defect or due to electrical system defects elsewhere in the vehicle. Every parts retailer I’ve ever encountered specifically excludes electrical items from warranty. We (NPD) tend to be fair and liberal with this policy however, and we frequently make common-sense exceptions. But no, there’s no stated warranty for a washer pump.
• Washer pumps never come with instructions or spec sheets, because they’re so straight-forward, and the inlet and outlet are clearly marked. I even took a stroll into our NOS room where we have several original NOS Ford pumps, and Ford never included instructions or specs either. Just a pump in a box. I photo’d a couple of the boxes. 

We take our customers’ satisfaction quite seriously, and I wrote this with the hope that you might reconsider your expectations on this pump. We’ve been selling this particular pump for 13+ years now, over 1,000 of them, and we have zero returns or claims with regard to function.
