Description

All new. Repro. 2 year limited manufacturers warranty. Requires lowering bracket 3A652-1A if being used with long tube headers.

**You must flush the PS system anytime components are replaced to eliminate any contamination and to validate manufacturers warranties. Many transmission fluids available on the market do not meet manufacturer minimum standards for friction, viscosity, corrosion or wear, In fact Cardone, the largest supplier of rebuilt power steering components, has found the cause of many power steering related failures can be traced back to low quality fluid, Dont risk your restoration on a budget brand fluid. See 19582-2 for Motorcraft brand Type F fluid for use in vehicles that specify type F in the P/S system up to 1995. **

See 3A540-1AK, 3C651-1 for mounting hardware options.

Power Steering Ram Cylinder

I bought this unit about a year ago as part of a year long rebuild of the entire car, was a full 12 months elapsed time from when the part was received to when the car was mobile however the first outing with the vehicle, a trip of about 150 miles, the ram blew the seals and pumped all of the fluid out. I perhaps should have bought the more expensive genuine part.

I bought an AutoPro power cylinder for the first phase of my rebuild project 2 years ago and it worked well initially. After working for a few months, my power steering stopped working. It took me a while to figure out what was wrong and I found that the power cylinder was no longer working. I removed it and cut it apart and found that the inside of the cylinder was corroded which likely caused the piston seal to come apart. I ordered another one from NPD, not knowing it was also from AutoPro. I installed it and it works fine. I hope it lasts longer this time around.
