I had ordered this to restore a set of 1971 - 1973 Mustang Sport Wheel covers. Turned out this is not the right color for wheel covers should be just black no metallic. I will use when I restore a grill for 1972 Cobra Jet vert. so no problem.

SHAKE IT FOR 10 MINUTES!!! Where do i start, this is a love hate relationship. I love the perfect match with factory but the spray can that i got , sucked! I shook for 5 minutes and was spraying it when 2 or 3 clumps came out on to my finish. I waited for them to dry and since the had flattened out, I gave it a second coat and was almost dont when more clumps came, Then the nozzle got clogged and paint was pouring out from under the nozzle. HUGE MESS, even after turning can upside down and clearing it. I finally was able to cover my piece after about 4 coats with out issue. Final product looks great. Good luck.

I read the reviews and should have stayed away from this product. I shook this can for 4 minutes two days after I received it in the mail. In the first 5 seconds it started spitting globs out and I had to strip my lower grill trim completely as I had applied primer. I resorted to a 4 year old can of Accumatch to paint my trim. Do Not Buy, this is a crap product!!

This spattering problem is an isolated one, and is due to the can/nozzle, not the product within. I can assure you with great confidence that our proprietary shade of 1970 grille/trim charcoal is the only truly correct one on the market, as I used parts from my personal 5,200 original-mile unrestored survivor 1970 Mach 1 as the benchmark for the match. It’s precise.
I had
our Ford Product Manager do a quick spray from a random can, and he said it
sprayed perfectly. If you would like that actual tested can (he couldn’t have
sprayed but maybe 2%-3% of the contents), I’d be happy to ship it to you for
free. Please advise, and please understand that this is an anomaly. And of
course, in the odd occasion when it does happen, people write a review about
it. We’ve sold thousands of cans of this paint. We don't leave customers "hanging" on the rare occasion that a bum can happens.

I had similar problems with it spitting out in clumps, and I had this issue with multiple cans. I read about a technique to try, so on the same cans, I did this, I put hot tap water in a tall cup (+/- 140 degrees F), and then put the can in the water for about 3-5 minutes to get the mixture warm, and the clumping did not happen after that. Color was exactly like the original, and overall it looked great.

Let me begin this by saying thank god for NPD and I post this as constructive critisizm/information rather than a complaint . I am just happy that I can order up pretty much whatever I need from a place and always get good quality items at fair prices. With that said , I believe seymour needs to step its game up a little as far as the spray tip is concerned , there are much better tips available and im about to go digging to see if I can find a good one that fits these cans . But Its an easy task for the manufacturer honestly . ALSO , I see people saying shake the can for ten minutes 4 minutes 5 minutes . Im here to tell you to shake this can as much as you can shake it and then every time you pick it up shake it more . The amount of agitation certainly helps . Also turning the can upside down and giving it a spray to clean the tip now and then. NPD ? Its not isolated , its a problem and this isnt 5 dollar cans of paint . The shaking part is all on the user but they could do better with those tips. Both of my brand new cans are bitchy and want to stop up or spit clumps . Shaking shaking shakin absolutely helps and thats what I will pass on to anyone thats gonna use this.SHAKE IT < SHAKE IT SHAKE IT !! Love the color match , love that I can get it. Love NPD for having it. I just think that at the price we are paying this could be improved a bit.

I have a survivor 70 Mach 1 and the color match was perfect. However, no matter how much I shook the can, it would randomly splatter. After redoing my lower grille pan twice, I swapped out the spray nozzle and used one from an old krylon can and the results were great. It sprayed much nicer, no splatter and a better metallic distribution. It seems the spray orifice from the krylon can tip was larger than the one that came with it and that did the trick for me.
