The mounting holes on this mirror do not match the factory mounting holes on a 1970 Cougar XR7 convertible. The mirror base is too long to mount to the existing trim/mirror base on the drivers side. I would have to change the trim. Drilling and installing new mounting hardware would be required on the passenger side. I will return the mirrors.

The mirror has a 5 7/8 inch spacing while the gasket appears to have a 5 1/2 inch spacing. I believe that the gasket will work. My original mirrors had the 5 7/8” spacing. It would have been nice if the mirrors came with a mounting diagram (template).
