This original glove compartment lock retainer features the Ford part number of D8BZ-5406088-B. This unit is designed to hold the square style glove box latch / handle to the body of the door. Restoration Note:
Between the 1979 thru 1986 model years Ford changed the glove box latch and lock design. The first design was used from 1979 thru 1983 and feature a rectangle style handle with a center lock cylinder. Then from 1984 thru 1986 Ford used a larger cylinder style lock and latch style that would eliminate the need for the rectangle handle. These retainers are designed to hold the early style in there factory location.
