Total fail here. I installed and went crazy troubleshooting my circuits, ground and even bought and tested with a mechanical gauge despite engine sounding fine. The non op gauge was fixed with a 15 dollar part. This unit was totally defective. So much for Motorcraft being better. Probably would last longer than the 2 yrs my old unit did, but to do that they have to work first :) NPD asked me to send back for full refund, which is fair. Albeit a waste of their time and money and mine. But they've always been good to me so I shall comply.
