This OE Style Intake Manifold cap is designed to give your 5.0L Foxbody Mustang engine compartment that OE finished look. This cap or sometimes often called a plug was used on factory intake manifolds to finish off the machined part of the front section on the intake. These units after time and age have fallen off and are missing from the upper intake. This was due to the double-sided gasket that was used from the factory to install them and the engine heat over time will allow them to fall off. NPD is proud to offer this exact style repro that is based on the original E6ZZ-9A434-A part number. This unit features the correct style and finish as well as a proper PSA style gasket that will work with the extreme temperatures in the engine compartment. So if your original intake is missing its factory cap look at picking up one of these units and give that engine compartment the concourse look!
Restoration Note:
Most factory intake manifolds between 1986-1989 came with this cap installed. Some original units fell off during transport of even before they were delivered. Starting in 1990 not all intakes featured the cap. This unit is a nice way to give your intake a pre delivered look.
Note:
This intake manifold cap is designed to work only with factory 5.0L intake manifold used on 1986 thru 1993 model year. This unit will not work on 1993 Cobra models as the featured a different style intake manifold.

it is great that this part is available. However, it appears to be a mirror image of an original. It does look good after a little bit of modification. I would recommend this product after what seemed to be 2 years of waiting for it to be back in stock. This completed the look of my 86-engine bay. Have not found any other place that you can order this part from, thank you NPD for making this part.
