Restoration Note:
This kit is designed to fit 1979 through 1980 Mustangs that used standard-style hardware. The original Ford information is not 100% clear on the transition to metric-style hardware. NPD research shows that in 1981, Ford changed the part number for the complete hatch, which leads us to believe that the hardware and mounting style changed. Additionally, the 1982 Mustang in the NPD collection features metric-style hardware. If you are looking for the correct metric-style kit, NPD offers it under part number M-43200-3AK.
Installation Note:
This kit includes both mounting bolts and U-nuts required to properly install the trunk lid latch. This earlier style used U-nuts in the body of the hatch and bolts to secure the latch to the body of the car. This style of mounting was only used with standard-style mounting hardware.
