This kit includes a set of front sway bar retainers that were designed to be as close to original unit as possible, but without all the downfalls of the original units. They are made with a durable black plastic that will not crack or break like the original units. They also feature the correct mounting nut incased inside with the proper lock down threads to ensure that your sway bar stays in place. This kit also includes (4) OE style mounting bolts that feature the correct Dog Point end to help ensure the proper installation. These bolts feature a black phosphate finish to give you that OE look. Restoration Note:

These retainers were based of the original N804112-S Ford part number. They were molded off original NOS inventory to ensure a proper fit and finish. These units were test fitted in both original and the replacement style sway bar frame brackets to ensure a proper fit.

The original N804117-S160 mounting bolt used on 1986 thru 1993 Foxbody Mustangs featured a M10-1.50 x 33.5 mm size bolt that featured a Dog point style end. These bolts also featured a Yellow Zinc finish and a 14mm hex head. The bolts included in this kit from NPD are also M10-1.5 thread but are only 33mm long and feature a 13 mm hex head and are finished in black phosphate finish to give them a OE style look.

These plastic style units were used on all 1986 thru 1993 Foxbody Mustangs except for the 1986 Mustang SVO models. The 1984 thru 1986 Mustang SVO models used the earlier style metal retainers. See NPD part number 802164-SP for metal style or M-5486-1SAK for complete kit with bolts.

Installation Note:

This set of retainer plates are designed to work with your original factory N804117-S160 mounting bolts or NPD hardware that is included. These retainers feature the correct snap in clips on the bottom side to make installation as easy and just like factory. Simply snap them in place and then install your swaybar brackets and hardware just like the factory.
