If you have been looking to not only get your engine compartment looking back in factory order, but also have been looking for the OE correct style sway bar retainer plates and hardware, then NPD has you covered with this new exclusive kit. This kit includes a set of front sway bar retainers that were designed to be as close to the original N802164-S Ford part number as possible. They are made from the same thickness metal and feature the correct thread size. Each unit is finished in phosphate and oil to replicate the original units. They feature the correct mounting tab on the underside to make installation as easy as possible. This kit also includes (4) OE style mounting bolts that feature the correct Dog Point end to help ensure the proper installation. These bolts feature a black phosphate finish to give you that OE look. Restoration Note:
These units were based of the original N802164-S Ford part number. These units were tooled off original NOS inventory to ensure a proper fit and finish. These units were test fitted in both original and the replacement style sway bar frame brackets to ensure a proper fit.
The original N80213-S2 mounting bolt used on 1982 thru 1985 Foxbody Mustangs featured a M8-1.25 x 30 mm size bolt that featured a Dog point style end. The bolts included in this kit from NPD are also M8-1.25 thread but are only 35mm long and feature a 13 mm hex head and are finished in black phosphate finish to give them a OE style look.
These metal style units were used on all 1981 thru 1986 Foxbody Mustangs including the 1986 Mustang SVO models. The 1986 Mustang Non- SVO / 5.0L models used the later style plastic retainers. See NPD part number 804112-SP for plastic style or M-5486-2SAK for complete kit with bolts.
Installation Note:
This set of retainer plates are designed to work with your original factory N802163-S mounting bolts or NPD hardware that is included. These retainers feature the correct snap in clips on the bottom side to make installation as easy and just like factory. Simply snap them in place and then install your swaybar brackets and hardware just like the factory.
