For those seeking to complete the front end of their 1979-82 Fox Mustang Pace Car, Cobra, or GT, NPD offers exclusive reproduction front fender extensions, designed to match the original D9ZZ-16A162-A & D9ZZ-16A163-A specifications. Made from high-quality fiberglass, these units now included OE Style mounting hardware for a seamless installation, ensuring a precise fit with original or OEM Ford Tooling front lower valance panels.
Restoration Note:
The original injected molded fiberglass front fender extensions were prone to breaking and cracking due to road rash and poor installation, but NPD's new reproduction units have improved upon the original design, combining all the original features with enhanced strength and hardware design.
NPD has meticulously researched the original hardware included in this set of extension, consulting both Ford parts books and low-mileage cars to ensure accuracy. The kit includes hardware that is as close to OEM as possible, with square J nut retainer clips that are exact reproductions of the original 385352-S Ford clips, produced by NPD Reproduction.
Installation Note:
This set of reproduction lower front fender extension now includes more OE correct hardware than our previous version that were offered by NPD.
The reproduction front fender extensions from NPD come with two sets of hex head flange nuts, complete with free-spinning washers. The larger washer is designed to fit onto the mounting studs that pass through the lower front fender, ensuring a secure fit, while the smaller washer is intended for the studs that pass through the front valance panel and support bracket, guaranteeing a snug fit in the bracket's grooves.
For those seeking the correct mounting brackets and hardware to securely attach the lower front fender extension to the front valance panel, NPD recommends part number M-17C760-1APK, which is an OEM-correct kit.
These units will require proper preparation and painting before installation. Please note that test fitment is required before prep and painting.
