This is the third or fourth Scott Drake latch I have purchased over the last 6-8 years. They keep breaking for some reason. The pot metal the latch is made of gives way and the latch button assembly falls apart. This is on an original glove box door that might get opened once or less per year (there is nothing behind it but my security wiring and fuses). I can count on the latch giving way once every year of so and having to replace it.

Nice quality part but the one I received has the key hole in the button. Time will tell if this one is any better than the one it replaced. The old one was also a reproduction, and the roll pin that the latch pivots on bend causing the glove box door to jam.

This is at least the fourth one of these latches I have purchased since about 2005. The pot metal surrounding the latching mechanism keeps cracking after a couple years and the latch fails. Since there is no other choice, I have to keep going back to this same replacement part. I marked no on whether or not I would recommend this part to a friend, I guess I would actually have to recommend it since there is no choice.
