Looks decent, very hard to screw on to the threaded shaft. Easy to scratch while trying to turn for the initial install.

They will not even thread onto the original stud. These will need to be tapped to function.

Please understand that the door lock knobs were never pre-threaded by Ford in the first place. That would have greatly increased Ford’s cost-per-piece, having to tap threads in every knob.

Instead, Ford shot a dribble of “schmutz” (for lack of a better term) down into the hole, and upon twisting while applying downward pressure, you self-tap your own threads into the schmutz.

It’s how Ford did it, it’s how every NOS Ford knob is, and it’s precisely how the repros are done.

And yes, sometimes it’s a bear, and yes, life might be easier pre-tapping the threads.

I hope you understand, and that this helps explain! NPD

These look great. As others mentioned, the threads tap into the plastic as you screw it on, so a little hard by hand. I used an adjustable rubber strap oil filter wrench on the ends and they screwed on effortlessly.

Looks hood but not threaded properly to install on a 67 mustang. Required extreme force with both Hands to turn them on.

Threads had to have a tap run in them for easier fit.
