I had 1" drop springs on my 67 mustang, after doing the shelby drop, the car was too low. These helped get my car back up to a respectable height.

Two issues when installing two of these on my 70 Cougar XR7. First, the ID is about 1/16" too small to slide over the collar at the spring tower. Had to use a drum sander to open it up. Secondly, it is advertised as a 1" lift the actual measure is 13/16". Otherwise, all was well. Hopefully, it will hold up better than the 3/8" lift insulator I put in 4 years ago which had turned gummy and extruded out.

The Prothane 1” coil spring insulators are a problem solver. I’ve already lowered the car about 2 5/8” by cutting the stock springs. I’m about to lower the upper control arms which is said to lower the car about 5/8”. Assuming the insulators on the car are ¼” thick, the combination of lowering the arms and swapping out the thicker insulators may raise the front end about 1/8”. If I can’t live with that, I understand that you can grind down polyurethane parts and I have a belt sander, palm sander, and a band file. I wish Prothane made these insulators in intermediate thicknesses, but experience has taught me that when you buy parts to modify your car, sometimes you have to modify the parts as well.
