although the switch had the same seven wires the plug did not fit my harness. I had to cut the plug off and direct connect the wires.

Great part. Clear dell directions on how to modify to be used on a 1970. Too bad you have to cut off the pigtail on a new part to make it work.

Will not fit any 70-72, until you splice in your old wires way too short

The switch has the wrong plug hook up on it. You have to cut off the original and rewire it to the new switch. A pain in the ass.

It fits and works, like it says you must splice in your old plug and cut out the new plug. There is a plus if you cut your old switch out close to the switch and cut the new plug out at the plug connector it gives you a couple inches longer wiring. It makes it easier to plug into your old wiring harness. My 1970 Mach 1 old switch had a pink wire and the new switch did not have a pink wire. Your old switch with the pink wire will now go to the green wire with red stripe on the new switch. All the other wires are the same color match up.When dealing with a 54 year old car you have to bend, mend, and then they tend to fit. Thanks to N.P.D and there reviews parts like this make parts fit better with less whinning.
