I may have gotten a bad part, but it didn't work. It looked very similar to the original except for the rivets as mentioned. It is also slightly lighter in weight. I think mine didn't pass a quality check since the hole for the mount bolt was not drilled (at all) and the horn itself doesn't make a sound. I tried bench testing it as well as putting it in 2 different 67 mustangs. Assuming this is a one off, I would expect this is the best you can do for a reproduction horn based on how it looks and how the driver side I purchased at the same time sounds (its loud).

Ordered this part as a replacement for a Concours street driven '68 Shelby that I restored. All I had to do was repaint it a low gloss solid black color to cover the new rivets and gasket that was exposed from it being rebuilt.

This horn works but doesn’t have that familiar mustang tone which I am very familiar with. We’ve had mustangs nearly my entire life (since I was 2 and I’m 55 now) so these minor things do make a difference to someone like me. That’s being a little picky. However, the steel tab that mounts to the horn is thin. When I tap the radiator frame near the horn it wiggles a lot. I tried this on the side with the original horn and it was steady…but even that made the new horn shake on the other side. Flimsy. I would have paid the difference (x2) just to get that thicker tab. Tab also had to be modified (rebent) to mount the horn. One star deduction for being flimsy and another for inaccurate tab dimensions.

The mounting tab is thin gauge steel and wiggles unlike the original which is thicker. Tap the the radiator and the original horn is steady but this one wiggles. Also the hole is drilled about a 1/8” off and required me to bend the tab and force the bolt in at an angle. How difficult is it to drill a hole in the right spot? How difficult is it to quality check something before it goes out?
