This unit is designed to be a replacement style for your factory 1988-1993 hood support rod retainer. This unit is called a replacement style due to the coloring of the nylon plastic that it is made from. The original units featured a more off white nylon and these units are more of a pure white in color. This difference is why NPD calls them out as replacement style. So if you are looking to get your hood support rod properly clipped and want to save a little money this is the clips for you.
