While doing some interior floor pan and sound deadener work, I decided to pull out the heater box assy. to inspect the heater core, clean, etc. The factory original fiber board heat ducting was coming apart, and this replacement piece fit onto the old heater box assy. neck perfectly. Exact replacement, good quality for an unseen, often overlooked component.

This one was very good and worked really well! Replaced the paper board one even though it was in surprisignly good shape. Vent door works great. Just affix it and bolt to the box before you put in the heater box otherwise it's a pain to turn those tiny 1/4 screws!

As much as I wanted to salvage the cars original plenum on my late-'66 coupe, I had no choice but to purchase an aftermarket piece. Unlike the original that is pliable, (which allows one to maneuver it on to the heater box outlet), this aftermarket piece is made of a hard plastic, with no maneuverability. If you try to force the new plenum into position, you're likely to fracture the copper fittings on the heater core. Fortunately, I was replacing heater box, so I was able to attach the plenum upon installation. I have found that the easiest way to install this part is to remove the heater core hoses from the engine block while loosening the heater box away from the firewall, THEN install plenum with the newly created accessibility.

Fit was fine. Where the two pieces of plastic were riveted together there were gaps. I used black silicone to fill in where the two pieces met Overall I would recommend this product, but send a tube of silicone with it to fill in the small gaps throughout the castings.
