This switch did not work, right out of the box. The rubber overmold of the connector terminals was covering the insides of the terminals preventing electrical connections. Also the "common" terminal of the switch was not properly grounded to the metal switch case. NPD was notified and they were inspecting their inventory.

The switch works fine once it is fixed. After the 2nd one was replaced, I decided to see what the problem is. The ground to switch frame loses it's mechanical connection if the wires are moved. Looked at the Ford original and that connection was soldered. So I soldered the connection on mine and it works great. The 3 switches I got all have the same issue and have a made date of 05-24-2018. A little solder and you are good to go.

the tab that should be grounded needed to be soldered to the housing it took a little effort but it went well and now works fine less trouble than returning for a new one

Purchased in June 2020. Same issue as others. Switch did not work out of the box, but I was able to apply solder to the grounding contact and it now works fine. Also, the switch lever is a bit loose because the pivot is not firm (not a major issue, but worth mentioning).

I bought this part in July and just got around to installing it. After installing nothing worked so after hours of troubleshooting I figure out that it has a faulty internal ground. Another person reviewed this and had the same problem but they said they looked over the stock but i guess not

Harness fit and performed as expected (1966 Mustang coupe 289). Tape used to bind wires is probably on the cheaper side of electrical tape but that is common on aftermarket harnesses. I zip tie every 8" and at the ends to help prevent unraveling.
