I am not sure about this part being for a 65/66 as it is stamped with a C7 part number usually signifying a 67 Mustang. One of the headlight retainer ring mounting tabs is not in alignment, off by 10 - 15 degrees, the headlight ring will not easily attach without modifying the bucket or moving the ring attachment tab.
