3/64” thick x 1 1/2” wide, 4‘ length. Used to set vent glass, door glass and quarter glass into their respective channels or frames. Ford & GM seem to have used two thicknesses of the glass setting seal strips. Unfortunately they do not specify what thickness was used where. Windows require about 40”, vent windows 28”. If you are rebuilding your 60's vent windows (or replacing the vent glass into the vent frame) this item is NOT EXACTLY what you want! It is not thick enough. When doubled up, it did work out just about right. I was able to tap the glass back into the frame and the doubled rubber secured it properly. Ideally, we need material that is just at or under 6/64" for a proper, tight fit.

Exactly the right product to set vent window glass into its frame! Works well, one 4 foot strip did two vent windows on my 67 Mustang fastback.

I bought 2 sizes as I wasn't sure which would be needed. This size was a better fit then the 1/16" for my 55 F-100. I sorta wish one side had a sticky surface to help hold it on to the glass.

Not thick enough to hold glass. Threw it in the garbage and used urethane

We are sorry that the 214A10-2A sealing strip was too thin for you, but we clearly list two different thicknesses (214A10-1 is 1/16” and 214A10-2A is 3/64”), and we explain in the description of 214A10-2A that you purchased “thinner version of 214A10-1, Ford seems to have used both thicknesses”.
And that there is the conundrum. Ford used both thicknesses, and no one in the Mustang industry or restoration experts have been able to solidly determine which years/plants/dates apply to which thickness.
The only
reasonable way to go about it, considering that trying to measure your frame
and glass to determine the difference of only 1/64” would be difficult, is to
just buy BOTH sizes, and use the one that works. Unfortunately, there’s just no
other way that we can sell this stuff.
