Part does not correctly mount to the forward (chassis) slits. The hook should go in one slit and slightly stick out the second slit (on the hook end). This thing literally only hooks through the slits and does not bind itself to prevent rattling. Expect to rebend and modify the part to fit your needs on a 1967 GTO. I wouldn't use this part unless you can not salvage the OEM item. Spend the time cleaning up the old part and make the necessary repairs. You'll have just as much time in making this thing work right as you will fixing the old part.
