The Ford Performance bellhousing M-6392-58R is specifically designed for upgrading the manual transmission in your 1979-1995 Foxbody or SN95 Mustang with a 5.0L or 5.8L engines, but it can also be used for earlier models such as 1965-1973 Mustangs and other Ford models with 289, 302, or 351 Windsor engines when converting to a Tremec transmission. This bellhousing is compatible with transmissions such as the TKX, TR-3550, TKO, TKO 500, and TKO 600, providing clearance for the input shaft while adapting to the factory bolt pattern of the small block engine. The kit includes the bellhousing, clutch pivot stud, and transmission-to-bellhousing hardware for a smooth installation.

The Ford Performance bellhousing is specifically designed for Tremec transmissions, which have a unique bolt pattern that requires this bellhousing for installation. It also fits 1965-1973 Mustangs and other classic Ford models with a Tremec TKO-style transmission. Additionally, this bellhousing is compatible with diaphragm-style clutches due to its compact size, and it only works with a 157-tooth flywheel.
For installation in classic Mustangs or Ford models, the Ford Performance M-6392-58R bellhousing requires a fulcrum block adapter (NPD# 7522-10A) for the equalizer bar, or a cable clutch conversion setup to ensure proper fitment and functionality.
The Ford Performance bellhousing is not ideal for 1994-1995 Mustangs, as it may cause issues with clutch fork to exhaust clearance and shifter location. The clutch fork on this bellhousing is positioned at the 9 o'clock position, whereas the 1994-1995 Mustang has it at the 7 o'clock position. Additionally, this bellhousing is not compatible with T-5 transmissions, making it essential to consider alternative options for those models.
