Note:
Damper has removable weight that allows use as a neutral balance unit for internally balanced crankshafts. 1994-01 Mustang and Explorer requires modification. Does not clear early timing chain cover with rear installed seal. 3.000-inch. overall length. Passenger side 11-o'clock timing marks only.
Installation Note:
The 302 engine family has used many different styles of crankshaft dampers with various pulley spacings and bolt hole combinations. Ford Racing offers pulley spacers to properly position the crank pulley. Please check installation instruction PDF chart for proper pulley spacer. See NPD partt numbers M-8510 for correct spacers.
The M-6316-A50 crankshaft damper is a 50 oz imbalance unit designed for externally balanced 302 V-8s 1981 and newer. If you have a modified engine check with engine builder for proper balancer needed.
Water pump and timing cover front seal may need to be removed prior to installation. Check instructions for more details.
