We are certain that this shroud fits 1965-1966 Mustang applications. The mounting positions are identical to a stock shroud, and we have sold hundreds with zero issues. We can only assume that your radiator may not be correct/original to the car, or that you are lacking the proper bracket kit and/or fasteners to install. Had to trim it so it would fit my aftermarket Sanden AC compressor. Lasted a few years, but recently had an overheating incident and this shroud actually melted inward, obstructing the fan. Look for the fiberglass 3.5" shroud instead.

Cheap Imitation Plastic The image of the fan shroud I bought for my Mustang and the description forgot to mention that this is a cheap plastic imitation, not steel as the original shroud it’s replacing. NPD agreed to take it back but I pay the shipping. Doesn’t seem right to me.

We regret you are dissatisfied. This shroud fits great, and performs terrific. It is an aftermarket upgrade, not stock. All of the Big-3 utilized so-called "cheap plastic" for fan shrouds from the mid/late-60's forward, because they found modern plastics to be a better solution.

Product looks good, but after ordering a Champion 4 row radiator to replace the stock radiator, this shroud would no longer work without modification.

I added a new 3-row radiator to my 65 Mustang and wanted a shroud to keep things even cooler. This product fit perfectly and cleared the stock 17" fan with no problems. I see some reviews that people didn't like the plastic. For me it is fine although a little shiny in the engine compartment. I have also seen reviews that they do not fit. Mine fit perfectly. bolt holes lined up, fan was centered and cleared.
