These units were designed and based off the original E4ZZ-66519B80-A & E7ZZ-66519B81-A Ford part numbers and feature a OE style texture as well as the correct mounting holes and handle provisions. These units also feature the correct cutout location for the locking mechanism. They are made from black plastic and can be painted to match your original interior color. Restoration Note:

These units are called out as working for 1984 thru 1988 Mustang as well as 1984-1986 Capri with locking glass. Ford listing shows in 1984 (6/84) they started featuring the cutout or lock hole location as Ford calls it on the inner trim panel. NPD research has found that some earlier models (before 6/84) may have had locks. These locks were not factory installed and may have been dealer or Cars and Concepts installed. These new reproduction units were tested on both earlier and later style T-Tops and will work but the cutout location is designed to work only with factory lock.

Installation Note:

These units are designed to mount directly into the factory location. They are designed to mount using the same 4 screw holes located on the top section. NPD offers the correct mounting hardware under part number M-519B80-1AK. These units are also designed to work with T-Top trim that features factory installed lock mechanisms. The cutout location on these units is designed for that factory location. Ford listing show a date of 6/84 for w/ locking glass as the correct date. Please check you application before installation. Some T-Top mechanism may have dealer installed locks.

Note:

These units do not include the correct handle seal on the inside. NPD offers these units under part number M-51982-1A. You will want to install these handle seals before installation.
