Maybe I received two bad examples however the product description “they have terrific chrome” could not be further from the truth. Both of what I received have bad pitting or what looks/feels like sand under the chrome in several areas or splattered throughout the bezel. I’ll be returning for a replacement set or refund. Not impressed at all.

Checked stock, and product on shelf is still superior to both NOS and other reproductions. We are attempting to retrieve this pair from the customer to see if they are anomalous, and will exchange if necessary.

One unit had a pit in the chrome. The other had a lot of flashing on the back side around one of the mounting holes, preventing the light bucket to seat completely. Returned both..

This review prompted me to pull several of these bezels to inspect, and compare to Ford factory-original (we have a 1965 Mustang in our collection with 1,300 original miles, always garage-kept), and to also compare against Ford NOS (service parts).. And my takeaway is this - While we always strive to offer parts as high-quality as we can possibly achieve or source, please understand that these 13489-2B bezels are BY FAR better quality in chrome finishing that what Ford was mass-producing in 1965-1966, and light-years better than the shoddy service parts Ford was selling over the counter in the 70's, 80's and 90's. So if there's a pit here, or an irregularity there, inspecting close-up, understand that these bezels are a big step-forward in quality compared to what your car rolled off the assembly line with 60 years ago. Restoration parts manufacturers do their best to provide you with show-ready parts. Back in the 60's, Ford was not building show cars. The difference is night/day.
