The base washer on the striker is not removable without the destruction of the striker's threads so there is no way to slide the bushing on. 86 Mustang. Perhaps other years are different. They look like they are a durable material... I split one in an effort to spread it and pop it on, no luck and just ruined it. I suppose I could have destroyed the heavy "washer/spacer" with a dremel tool.
