SILICONE GREASE, Die-Electric and Brake Caliper, 3 ounce tube, Motorcraft, For electric contacts, spark plug wire contacts and disc brake calipers. Prevents corrosion, increases electrical contact throughput.
Note: To avoid possible fire and/or melting of the wiring harness:
1) Check wiring harness connector for broken or distorted retention clips and for evidence of overheating. Inspect the contacts for corrosion. If any of these conditions exist, replacement of the connector is required.
2) Before connecting the plug, apply die-electric gel to the terminals. This special gel will help provide a good electrical contact and prevent corrosion. Failure to apply the gel may make the unit and / or connector prone to early failure, melting or electrical fire!
3) Make sure the new connector fits tightly over the rectifier spade terminals on the alternator. Full alternator output is delivered through these terminals. A loose connector could cause excessive heat build-up and arcing inside the plug.
4) Lubricates disc brake caliper guide pins, boots and bushings.
