The hoses look good and work perfect, but they are not truely Concours. Factory hoses have a pain dual at one ent to show the proper direction for install. These hoses didn’t have the paint adding some confusion to the install and making them not concours. Instruction to show te correct direction of install would e helpfully as well.

Hello David,
Technically, paint daubs/markings are not required in MCA Concours judging. There's a myriad of reasons for this, prime among them being variations between plants and shifts and workers regarding the style and details and colors of markings... This gets further muddied and muddled by restorers who have unwisely copied markings from other incorrectly-done restored cars, which over the years, has snowballed into an absolute mess. This is not to say that a quality and detail-oriented restorer shouldn't do their best to research and replicate factory markings on their restoration (either by documenting on original parts as they're removed from their car, or researching other original cars from the same assembly plant). But it IS to say that it would not be wise for our concours hose supplier to apply those markings for you. There is no definitive way to do that, where it would be accurate and advisable in all cases. And as I said previously, it is not required within concours judging rules. We VERY MUCH appreciate the input, and I simply wished to explain our motives here. Thanks!
Rick

I purchased these power steering hoses to replace the exact same set purchased less than 3 years ago (less than 500 miles ago) from NPD by the previous owner of my car (I have the receipts). The previous set had the crimp on the connector fail, the hose just pulled out from the connector. Hopefully there's not an on-going quality control problem. New ones are ok so far after a short test drive and connectors seem firmly attached. We'll have to see if they last. I'll send can send the replaced hose for your inspection if you want.

I made the mistake of initially saving a few dollars and purchased the NPD replacement P/S valve hoses (3A714-2A) for my 69 Mach 1. They didn’t fit correctly! I then purchased the “good repro” (3A714-22). Much better fit! Do yourself and your restoration right, buy the correct fitting parts! Greg M

Hoses were a horribly tight fit, I had to loosen the the ram to install them. I got 4 miles on the car after the install and the crimp on one of the hoses failed. These parts are junk.

Having used a different manufacturer who employed a double crimp these hoses were easier to install due to the narrower shoulder if the crimp, also the other manufacturers hoses failed because of a lower quality metal used on the the flare which failed to seal no matter how much it was tightened. While the jury is out on the longevity of the flare seal, I feel it’s a higher quality product.
