Chrome is nice, fits well in the door, but the lever that connects to the lock actuating rod within the door has a fatal flaw. I'd attach a pic if I could, but where the lever rotates on the back of the lock cylinder, the level is missing pie shaped cut outs that allow the key to rotate all the way left or right and then re-center to remove the key. Thankfully I had my originals which I swapped on. If you buy these and do not have the originals to swap on you will not be able to lock or unlock your door via the key.

Completely worthless if you don't have your old locks. You must swap out the lever on the back of the lock with your old ones or these locks will not work at all. The ones that come with it do not rotate properly. You can see when you compare the old and new that they are not the same.

As most others have already mentioned, the locks themselves are very well-made. However, the pawls or small attached levers that connect to the rods are of an incorrect length and cause the lock to malfunction, This can create a very serious problem of having your door permanently locked. It would not be rocket science to re-create the levers if you have the correct center to center dimensions. Hopefully Daniel Carpenter, or one of the other good reproduction companies will make them. I would advise the vendors to simply leave them off the locks so that people who don’t read instructions don’t create a serious problem for themselves.

Need to change out the actuating lever because the new one does not interface. Quick change over on the the bench. Seem like they will work well.
