The original steering column cover was brittle at the mounting points. Both were broken. The installation of the new cover with intact mounting points was the reason for my purchase. The installation was no problem and the fitment and aesthetics were good. I would recommend this part to 1970 Mustang owners that had the same trouble with the original steering column cover.
