Metal backed. Excellent repro. The metal backed woodgrain is an excellent match to the original grain with the addition of a metal backing that limits shrinkage of the vinyl that is an attribute of most woodgrain vinyl. The fit of the metal backing to the console trim plates is good but not exact in some areas. Expect some fit issues, also the transmission plate sections do not have the thin side section due to issues cutting the metal that thin.

I'll have to borrow from another reviewer from the Scott Drake web sight. WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT MAKING PARTS THAT FIT. These are staight lines, basic measuring. Large gaps on pretty much everything. You can see the original black covering around the edges. Wish I could post pictures here. Tried to contact Scott Drake about this. Didn't respond. Didn't think NPD should take the rap for a poorly made product. Will be going back to NPD. Sorry guys not your fault.
