Not a paint but a treatment that dissolves minor rust and returns your manifolds to their original “as cast” look. Cures clear to allow the original cast iron to show through for a correct concours appearance. Properly applied this treatment lasts, on average, for 6 years and can last as long as 8-10 years depending on conditions. Environmentally friendly and nontoxic. Easy to apply with a toothbrush, rag or finger, remove any grease, oil or residue, remove scale or sand blast, apply product, work into pores. Use only enough to cover area. Cure by running engine (will not cure in an oven or external heat source). The biggest problem encountered with application is using too much product. Once cured if a dusty residue appears too much product was applied and simply brush off the residue. Container is approximately 2 3/4 ounces and is enough for 3-4 sets of average size manifolds. Will work on bare steel headers but not stainless steel.

Great transformation of my solid but rusted pair of 1968 cast iron exhaust manifolds. It's a small container that says it does 8 to 10 manifolds, and after finishing 2 with very little product used I'm sure it will treat at least 10 or more.

I have been using Calyx on all bare metal and cast items, not just manifolds. Seems to work really good on manifolds and pretty good on other items. On not heat treated items, Calyx will not prevent slight rust from appearing if items get wet and will have to be reapplied. I like the look it leaves on cast iron items.
