I've been in the hobby since 1978, I'm a member of NorCal SAAC and have used a lot of reproduction parts over all these years. This is not a good reproduction or what I've come to expect from Daniel Carpenter Reproductions. First of all when you look at the bumpers from the back side, the thickest part where the seat touches the bumper and all the compression happens is not as thick as the original. The original is 5/16" at the thickest point where the repro is only 1/4" thick or 1/16" thinner. Also the bumper fits very loose on the latch and will probably need to be glued to stay on. The opening on the original bumper is 5/16" where the repo's opening is 11/32" or 1/32" larger. Doesn't sound like a lot but it's the difference between a nice snug fit or rattling around without glue. And lastly inside of the bumper there is a bump that locks into a slot on the latch. On the original bumper it is 1/16" tall and the repo's is half that at 1/32" tall and barely engages the slot. And on one of them most of the bump is missing right out of the package and doesn't engage the slot at all. So overall the bumper fits very loose and doesn't compress as much as the original where it needs too. So it's not going on my car and I'm hoping a different repo will fit correctly.
