Steel, 3/8-24 thread. This tool is used to keep the piston centered while bleeding the brakes.
This tool fits into most original distribution blocks. It does not FIT 2B091-20BA, 20BB, 20CA, 20CB and some other aftermarket valves. Verify your thread size.
Why is this needed? the usual pattern for bleeding the brakes is to start at the furthest corner from the master cylinder, usually the right rear brake. Without this tool to keep the piston centered, bleeding the rear brake can push the piston forward. With the piston forward, properly bleeding the front brakes is difficult to accomplish.
** Not for use while vehicle is being operated! **
Note that this tool will keep a valve centered while bleeding the brakes but it will not center a valve that is not in the correct position. Do not force this tool to screw into the distribution block. Visually check to make certain the valve is centered prior to installing this tool. This tool fits into the threaded port for the brake pressure switch and fits all stock holes were the original 2B264 (2B264-1, 2B264-1A, 2B264-3) switch fits.Ford Mustang Years:

I have been looking for this as a replacement I lent to someone decades ago. The tool is essential to prevent the differential switch from moving and turning on the dashboard warning light while bleeding the dual brake setup on late 60's and early 70's Fords. Have not yet used it but is quite similar in appearance to the KD Tool I had years ago.
