Looks nice and the material doesn't feel cheap would prefer a buckle type of strap instead of the style it has but it still seems secure.

Okay, here is the deal. I absolutely LOVE this thing. The vinyl matches the seats (at least it does for me--I have black seats and ordered a black console), the quality is great, and the cupholders are large enough for any reasonably sized drink. However, I have one major problem with it. I have a Borg Warner T-10 four speed, and I can't put the car into second or fourth gear with this thing strapped down on the center portion of the bench seat. The cup holders extend too far beyond the edge of the front of the bench seat, and the shift ball hits the cupholders and prevents me from getting the transmission all the way into gear. Understandably, this also creates a bit of discomfort with the position of my hand while shifting; there just isn't enough room. I should mention that I have a performance Hurst shifter assembly and linkage, which probably doesn't help. The thing is, I love this center console enough to try to make it work through other means. I have removed the arm rest on the bench seat and thought about wedging the console back a little further behind the seat backs, but the clearance is too small to get it to fit--the console compartment is slightly too wide. I'm now looking at changing out my shift handle to one that is less curved, which will keep the shift ball farther away from the edge of the cup holders when shifting. I'm sure I'll make something work, but it's hard because my shift handle isn't the bolt-on style; it's the kind that requires disassembling the shift mechanism, and I'm not wild about doing that during the driving season. Under applications, it says it should fit a '65 Mustang rear bench seat (which it does). In the description, however, it says it will fit front OR rear bench seat--this was not the case for me. Perhaps with the stock T-10 shifter mechanism and linkage, but I think even that would make for uncomfortable clearances. I'm not sure. In short: really happy with the quality and functionality of this product, but I'll need to mess with some things to make it work on my 1965 hardtop with front bench seat.
