1966 289 with 1 wire alternator. Despite the negative reviews on other sites, I figured I would give this a shot. I did not have any issues with mounting bolt length as others have mentioned. The issue is with the heim joint length. It is way too short. There is no way to get the belt even remotely snug. Also, the end link of the tensioner heim joint will hit the fan unless it is mounted behind the alternator (engine side). Hopefully I am able to return the product tomorrow

Please ignore my other review (and remove if you can). My alternator pulley from the 1 wire alternator was smaller and had a different top width for the belt. After swapping the pulley from the old alternator to the 1 wire, there were no issues fitting

Bought this for 66 mustang 289..it required that you had to remove two bolts from the water pump to mount it..I would have had to take the fan and pulley off and because of space the radiator would have to come out just to remove ONE BOLT..it did not come with instructions..if it would have I would not have bought it..so I sent it back..
